2020 Daedalus Statuette
On September 4, 2020 the Flying Generations’ Meeting was held at the Iskierka restaurant in Mielec. The Meeting commemorated the local Aviation Day as well as the fifth centenary of Mielec itself. Amongst the attendees were several generations of people related to Mielec aviation, as well as representatives of the local authorities. Over the course of the meeting, the participants discussed the local aviation traditions and the future of the industry in Mielec. Moreover, the driving force behind the event (Janusz Chojecki, the president of Mielec Aficionados’ Association) distributed a number of aviation-related prizes. Czesław Kolisz, the Ankol Management Board President was recognized as an experienced aviation engineer and an outstanding business personality, and received the Daedalus Statuette for his achievements and contributions to the Polish aviation industry. A complete outline of his achievements was provided in a speech by Włodzimierz Adamski – an experienced engineer, a long-term employee of WSK PZL-Mielec, a scientist and an aviation expert.
