30.01.2018

On January 27, 2018 Business Centre Club awarded prestigious prizes to the best Polish entrepreneurs at the Grand Theatre – National Opera. The highlight of the event was a concert by Małgorzata Walewska accompanied by the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra. The entrepreneurs and their illustrious guests were welcomed by the BCC President Marek Goliszewski. Over the course of the event, the following prizes were awarded: Golden Statuette nominations, Polish Business Leader Golden Statuettes and Statuette Diamonds. The Polish government was represented by the Minister for Investment and Development, Jerzy Kwieciński.

As a previous years’ winner, Ankol was awarded the second Polish Business Leader 2017 Golden Statuette Diamond. Diamonds are awarded to past winners for retaining or consolidating their market positions. Management Board Vice President Anna Kolisz received the prize on behalf of the company.  She was accompanied by her husband and the management representatives: Mrs.  Renata Gózek, Mrs. Anna Walewicz – Styczeń, Mr. Mariusz Borkowski, and Mr. Paweł Dymek.

BCC’s activities are not limited to entrepreneurship. It also awards the Social Solidarity Medal in recognition of concerned citizens who assist the needy, promote social responsibility in business and otherwise contribute to social solidarity. This year’s awardees are Zygmunt Solorz (the founder of the Polsat TV station and the related Polsat foundation), Władysław Grochowski (Arche president) and Włodzimierz Chwalba (Metal Union president). Additionally, two people were awarded the BCC Special Prize. The first was Werner Hoyer, the president of the European Investment Bank, who has assisted the Polish economy and entrepreneurs with loans totaling over 25 billion Euro in the years 2012-2016. The second was professor Norman Davies, who was awarded the Prize for assisting the Poles in forging a better future through his research into Poland’s historical triumphs and defeats.
