Ankol Awarded the Polish Economy Ambassador 2018 Prize

20.09.2018

On September 18, 2018, the closing ceremony of the tenth edition of the Polish Economy Ambassador competition was held at the Business Centre Club in Warsaw. Ankol was one of the winners.

Once again, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) was the sponsor. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska stated it’s an honor to be a winner of the competition. ‘Poland is renowned worldwide thanks to your efforts’, she said. She also confessed she feels a tinge of pride when she encounters Polish brands in various European cities. ‘The fact that you sell eighty per cent of your goods in Europe stands as a testament to your persistence’, she added. ‘Still, state assistance is of the essence if your products are to be renowned worldwide. Entrepreneurs can certainly succeed as long as the law is simplified and as long as politicians do not hinder them.’

The competition had several objectives. The first was the promotion of Poland abroad as a serious and reliable economic partner. The second was the promotion of internationally successful entrepreneurs. The third goal was the propagation of high economic/financial standards and good business practices in international relations. The final  objective was to strengthen the cooperation between entrepreneurs and the representatives of Polish institutions in charge of promoting Poland, its economy, culture and social initiatives abroad.

Marek Goliszewski spoke briefly upon the conclusion of the ceremony, congratulating the winners. ’Ten days ago, I attended the Silesian BCC Gala. I would like to reiterate the principles I discussed back then. They were conceived in Silesia, but now are the foundational principles of each Polish representative attending a high-stakes competition of any kind’, he said. ‘The first principle is that winning is the best thing in life, along with overcoming our weaknesses. You truly lose only when you admit defeat. Today’s winners have overcome their weaknesses to take their businesses all the way to the top. The second, related principle is that life has no value without a fighting spirit. In case of today’s winners, their fighting spirit manifests in their efforts to uphold the European standards in their products and services. The third principle is that we should be able to absorb any blow, but ideally, we should strike so hard and so fast that we won’t have to absorb any. Tonight’s winners have this ability, as they have been withstanding constants assaults by heartless regulations while promoting Poland abroad. The final principle is that great victories are possible only through hard work. Tonight’s winners can certainly attest to that. Albert Einstein once remarked that the world is open to those who know where they are headed. This clarity of purpose is something I wish to all of you’, he concluded.

Ankol, a company established and managed by Anna and Czesław Kolisz received a prize in the ‘European Brand’ category, which is awarded for outstanding quality of goods or services renowned all over Europe.
