Routes Europe 2021 in Łódź!

Routes Europe 2021 in Łódź!

12.02.2020

Airlines from all over the world and representatives of most airports will come to Łódź. It is Łódź that will be the host city of Routes Europe 2021. I am talking about a prestigious aviation industry event, during which representatives of airports and carriers meet to decide on new connections. Routes Europe is the largest and most famous European trade fair.
Routes Europe will be held in Łódź from 26 to 28 April 2021 and will be attended by approximately 1,300 guests. They will include the heads and representatives of around 100 airlines, around 300 airports and many tourist organizations. The host of the event is Łódź Airport, and the partners are the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency and the Civil Aviation Authority.

- Last year, Polish airports carried 49 million passengers, and the market development dynamics is twice as high as in Western European countries. The role of Poland in the European aviation market is growing, the best proof of which are the nominations for Poles to high positions - for the president of PANSA Janusz Janiszewski in A6 and the resident of the Civil Aviation Authority, Piotr Samson, in EASA. The organization of the Routes Fair for the third time in Poland is also a recognition of aviation development plans, including those related to the construction of the Central Communication Port. Along with the implementation of the CPK, cooperation will tighten between the capital and the third largest city - Łódź, which will be one of the largest beneficiaries of the construction of new infrastructure for Poland and the region of Central and Eastern Europe. Therefore, the choice of Łódź as the host of the next edition of Routes is not accidental and is a harbinger of further rapid economic development of the entire region - said Marcin Horała, secretary of state at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Government Plenipotentiary for the Central Communication Port.

Piotr Samson, President of the Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of the Management Board of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency: - Poland is the first country to host the Routes Europe Fair for the third time. After the airports in Warsaw and Krakow, this time Lodz will host delegates from one of the most important aviation events in Europe. The fair is not only prestige and the opportunity to boast about the development of our country in front of representatives of the aviation and tourism industry from around the world, but also an opportunity for development. As the statistics show, each airport that organized Routes Europe or World Routes has increased the dynamics of acquiring new carriers. In the three years after the event, the number of new connections increased by over 30%. We hope that the event will contribute to the development of the airport in Łódź and will bring new connections and new carriers to airports throughout the country, as well as draw the attention of Europe to the entire aviation industry in Poland.

Janusz Janiszewski, president of the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency and chairman of the A6 Steering Board: - Today Poland is very often indicated as a model of good cooperation in the field of aviation. Our efficiency, investments in new technologies and readiness to support our neighbors in clearing air traffic flows are mentioned by European partners as the greatest assets of Polish air traffic services. Today, in many areas, we are developing faster than our counterparts in other countries, and our strong position is also visible in the work on developing a new order in the European airspace. I am very glad that it has been appreciated by the organizers of Routes Europe and in April 2021 Poland will be the host of this most important aviation event in the world. I would also like to congratulate Łódź, whose success means the success of the entire aviation industry in Poland.
In April, during this year's edition of the Routes Europe Fair in Bergen, Norway, Łódź will solemnly receive the statuette of the next host of the event. It will be presented by Steven Small, Brand Director of Routes. - Cooperation with Port Lotniczy Łódź and strategic partners in the organization of Routes Europe 2021 in Łódź is an inspiring experience. The choice of one of the last undiscovered cities in Europe coincided with the 95th anniversary of the Łódź airport. For environments developing air connections in Europe, Łódź Airport, with its capacity of 2 million passengers per year and the existing infrastructure, presents enormous potential. I am sure that Routes Europe will become an impulse for the significant development of air connections and will direct everyone's attention to Central Europe - said Steven Small.

Tony Griffin, Senior Vice President of Consulting, ASM said that they have been working closely with the Lodz airport for three years, convincing airlines about the potential of Lodz and the demand for air traffic in the third largest city in Poland. - Passenger traffic at the airport in Łódź increased by 11 percent last year. and another increase of 14 percent is forecasted. in 2020. From June this year, five new destinations will join the network: Rhodes, Heraklion, Corfu, Bodrum and Varna. Each of the Routes events, including Routes Europe, are a kind of catalyst for the development of air connections in the cities where they take place. There are people representing the aviation industry who decide about the development of the network of connections.

Routes Europe in Łódź will take place in the Expo Hall, and accompanying events are planned in the most attractive places in Łódź, mainly in revitalized post-factory buildings.

- In the aviation industry, it is an event of the European Football Championship or EXPO. I am proud that Łódź and our airport will host such a prestigious event. We will invite the entire aviation world to Lodz, because we want to show that Lodz is a large city with an economically strong region, which is worth visiting for business matters, work, but also for the so-called city break. We are convinced that when guests see Łódź, they will be eager to do business here, develop air connections, and bring tourists to us. We can boast of Piotrkowska, revitalized post-industrial architecture, great hotel and gastronomic base. I hope that Routes Europe 2021 will become a flywheel for the Łódź airport, which can handle up to 2 million passengers a year without any infrastructure investments - says Dr. Anna Midera, president of the Łódź Airport.

Routes Europe has been held since 2006. The first city to host the event was Warsaw. Since then, in April each year, subsequent cities which, as a result of the selection, received the right to organize the event, invite representatives of the aviation industry to their place. So far, the organizers have been Sofia, Porto, Prague, Toulouse, Cagliari (Sardinia), Tallinn, Budapest, Marseille, Aberdeen, Krakow, Belfast, Bilbao, Hanover. The organizer of the fair is the international company Informa, listed on the London Stock Exchange, dealing with the organization of events, consulting and the publication of industry publications. The organizer's research shows that in the 3 years after the event, Routes gives the host city the equivalent of over £ 85.5 million in British revenues and over 1,000 additional jobs.
